Energetic, passion driven, humble and the youngest restaurateur Varun Puri is brutally honest and unlike others his age is highly focused and determined to grow his business into manifolds. Taking Indian food and his pet brand Imly to heights un-foreseen by any other is his ultimate goal.
After his high school, like any other individual confused about his career options, Varun applied for many courses in the offering in Delhi University, including the professional courses. And as destiny would have it, he cleared his hotel management entrance with Rank 20 across India. While studying in Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (BCIHMCT), one of the best hotel management institutions of India, Varun interned with Oberoi, New Delhi. Here he met the then 30-year-old Abhishek Sahai, running Delhiās most successful restaurant, Three Sixty Degrees. Sahai inspired Varun and ignited his passion to run and manage a restaurant successfully.
He has also worked with Dabur-promoted Lite Bite Foods, before opening his first restaurant Lights Camera Action - Air Bar at Rajouri Garden in 2015 with his partners, followed by Molecule Air Bar in Gurgaon.
Travelling across the world in his gastronomical quest to bring in new concepts to his home country, Varun aims to modernise Indian food in style, keeping the taste and authenticity of the Indian flavours intact.
With a crew of 800 at present, Varun looks forward to employing 50,000 people in his company in the future.
