He worked for GE Capital across North America before returning to India to co-found Yo! China. Yo! China is India's first and largest chain of Chinese restaurants. Apart from Yo!China, Ashish is also the co-founder of Dimsum Bros, The Wine Company, Antares, Whisky Samba amongst others.

He is a theatre buff and loves acting. He has acted in plays staged across the world and even starred in a short international film.
