Cut sponge cakes with dental floss: If you want your cake slices to be cut appropriately, just reach out to your medicine box and use unflavored dental floss for those perfect pieces
Cupcake decoration: The decoration over a cupcake can be complicated if one doesn’t have proper decorative materials. The quick fix for this can be to randomly place 2-3 strips of paper over the cupcake. Just dust icing sugar and/or cocoa powder over the top and one will end up with beautiful designs over the cupcake
Remove eggshell easily: Accidentally dropped excess eggshell in the bowl? There is nothing to stress, simply wet your finger and the eggshell will be magnetically attracted. Try it to see that it will really work
Keep your brown sugar soft: Keep the crushed brown sugar soft by storing them with a slice of brown bread
Get the perfect texture of the cake: Fear the bubbles on your perfect baked cake? Here is a solution. Gently tap your cake several times on a table to set the base. Tapping the cake will also make it settle faster and give that perfect bubble free cake.
Room Temperature Butter: Use room temperature (24-26oC) butter in baking for best results. It helps incorporate the ingredients evenly and keeps the batter smooth and manageable. To bring the butter sticks to room temperature, leave them on the counter for about 30 minutes, before you start baking. If you're pressed for time, put the butter sticks in a large bowl and place it in a saucepan filled with hot water. Alternately, microwave it for 10-15 seconds.
Use Transfree margarine: It’s easier to handle margarine when the room temperature is warm as it doesn’t go as soft as butter and has better creaming properties. You can substitute part butter with margarine and get a better flavor and texture.
Refresh cookies: Soft, soggy cookies can be as good as freshly baked ones if refreshed in the oven at 150-160C or microwaved in the oven for 15-20 seconds till heated through.
Use Ice cream scoop: Don’t have a measuring tool for perfectly sized cookies? Use ice cream scoop for the perfect shaped cookies and also avoid the sticky finger with this simple hack.
