How did food happen to you?

It started good 20 years ago when I graduated from Institute of Hotel Management Catering & Nutrition, Pusa. It was the time to turn my passion into reality when I started my career with hotels like Imperial New Delhi, Maurya Sheraton New Delhi and Burj Al Arab Dubai.

What inspired you to start a concept like this?

I was always passionate about food service sector and wanted to fill the void in food industry with something unique. I feel fortunate that I got the guidance from the best people in the industry which always inspired and motivated me to be the best, to produce high quality food and maintaining high standards of hygiene.

What’s your uniqueness?

It has to be the taste and freshness that we create at the Empress. We grow our own organic vegetables and herbs and that comes through the taste of the food. We believe in maintaining high standards of quality, our customers must get the sense of quality with each morsel.

What are some of experiences that you’re creating at The Empress?

We are catering food from The Empress for house functions, parties creating memories of good taste for everyone who’s enjoying our food.

What’s your take on innovations in this segment?

This is a fast paced industry and to be creative and innovative has to be a regular thing. Customers have too many options and to retain a customer they must always find something new and engaging in the menu.

How do you think food and beverage trend in India has changed over the past few years?

Earlier going out was an occasion in itself. Today, the everyday requirement of eating and surviving are met with online ordering. There are endless options, people are ordering all three meals of the day and late night cravings too. All at the convenience of food being delivered to their doorstep.

What are your marketing strategies?

For us, the most important marketing strategy is customer satisfaction. A happy customer will speak volumes for you and you will have business coming to you from word of mouth. We encourage our friends and family to also order from us without telling us or the staff at The Empress so we get the most honest feedback.

What are your expansion plans?

We are in talks to take ‘The Empress’ to other cities.

What are your upcoming projects?

We want to cater to the masses with pocket friendly prices but not compromising on the quality of the food. We are coming up with rozana thalis serving nutritious homelike food when you’re away from home.
