Republic Day is no longer about attending the flag-hosting ceremony at the nearby place or venue, eating sweets and languishing for rest of the day before the television set. This year, the restaurants have much more to cherish the exclusive R-Day cuisine that is surely introducing a fresh angle to the national holiday.

Pondichéry Café at Sofitel Mumbai BKC is already serving different regional cuisines of India from 20th January organising a Republic Day Brunch on 26th January. The hotel will offer a 50 percent discount to all defence personnel on the day.

Sharing details on the same, Aashima Sharma, Hotel Manager, Sofitel Mumbai BKC, said, “Sofitel Mumbai BKC has always been at the forefront in amalgamating different cultures.”

Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel is celebrating the day by a special Republic Day Room Package that lets you and your family spends some time together, not too far from home. The package is priced at Rs 6,500 plus taxes and includes the Lake View Cafe brunch, chef crafted chocolates for the family, 50 percent discounts on spa treatments and fun activities for kids.

Talking about the offers at Bikaner on the eve of Republic Day, Sangeeta Goel, Marketing Head, Bikanerwala, says, “We are offering approximately 10-15 percent of discounts on all the restaurants items at all our outlets across the country. We are also offering a tri-colour sweet for the day to mark the day.”

Other restaurants where people can have the special offerings on the Republic Day include Flavours of Freedom @ Seven, Shangri-La Hotel. The all day dining restaurant at the hotel unveils its special menu, to celebrate the 63rd Republic Day. The underlying theme of the menu has strong Indian influences, as evident from their diverse Indian cuisine options. Meat, seafood and vegetables- all cooked in traditional Indian methods, will be presented to guests, apart from their vast options in pickles, rotis and desserts.

Lotus Café at JW Marriot Mumbai will be offering a wide variety of authentic gastronomic delight on 26th January 2014. The restaurant at the hotel offers buffet brunch with the most authentic preparations from across India priced at a range of non alcoholic Rs 2300, alcoholic Rs 3300 and kids buffet at Rs 1450 plus taxes.

Welcom Hotel Dwarka is all set to celebrate grand festival of Republic Day. The hotel is offering Grand Republic Day Brunch at Pavilion 75 serving a variety of menus, live station chat counter, pizza station and much more. The main course includes Chinese, Indian and Western cuisines along with the desserts. The customers can avail the brunch at a price of Rs 1250 plus taxes.

Defense personnel can also avail a 25 percent discount on production of an ID card at the hotel.
