Rahul Akerkar set up deGustibus in 1996. Indigo � a fine dining restaurant - opened in 1999 and quickly made the Cond� Nast Traveller�s �World�s Hottest 60 Tables� list. It was ranked 75 in the San Pellegrino �World�s Best Restaurants� awards in 2007. Between 2005 and 2012, he set up four New York-style Indigo Delis, and Moveable Feast - a multi-cuisine catering company, elevating the art of table service and taking entertaining to unparalleled levels of sophistication. In 2009, he launched Tote on the Turf, an award-winning venture in architecture, design and hospitality with 25,000 sq ft space, which also houses the Awadhi restaurant Neel � voted as one of the best new restaurants in 2011 � the Tote Bar and Tote Banquets.
Rahul was featured in Asiaweek�s Survey of �Kitchen Gods�. He often addresses the food and hospitality industry as a speaker, has authored several articles and has been guest chef in several kitchens and culinary festivals worldwide.
